I am a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics where I teach a range of courses, primarily in numerical analysis. Specific course information is available on ICON. I also have a courtesy appointment in the Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation in the Carver College of Medicine and an affiliate appointment in the Applied Mathematical and Computational Sciences (AMCS) program of the Graduate College.

Within the Department of Mathematics, I am part of the Mathematical & Computational Biology and Numerical Analysis research groups.

My general interests are in numerical mathematics applied to problems in biology, with a current emphasis on the physiologies of multiple myeloma, bone and cartilage.

Current Graduate Students:

• Xiayi Wang (AMCS) currently works with me and James Martin in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation on problems in articular cartilage lesion abatement.

Former Graduate Students:

• Jason Graham (AMCS) received his Ph.D. on July 27, 2012. His dissertation work was on mathematical representations of various systems in orthopaedics and collective cell motility. Upon graduating, Jason began work at The University of Scranton as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mathematics.
• Stephanie Schmidt (AMCS) received her Ph.D. on July 30, 2010. Her dissertation work was on models of Nafion fuel cells, in collaboration with the Leddy Lab. Upon graduating, Stephanie began work at Fiberight as an Operations Research Analyst.
